The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo SAN, CON, FICArb (UK) praised the retired directors for their selfless service to the nation and called them patriotic Nigerians whose contributions to their homeland will never be forgotten during a recent event held at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja to honor retirees. Keyamo said that nothing can be used to compensate them for the enormous amount of service they have provided to Nigeria.

Keyamo reminded the eight (eight) retired directors who had earned their retirement from the Federal Civil Service that their services could be needed at any time and encouraged them to always take part in activities that would improve their health. He also expressed gratitude to the retired directors’ families for their support over the years of their employment.

The Retirees’ representative, Mr. Yusuf Aliyu Addy, thanked the Minister and Permanent Secretary for the honor and pledged to not take it for granted. He asked the Permanent Secretary to ensure that the retired directors’ Retirement Certificates are issued by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation as soon as possible.

Mr. Mohammed Shehu, Director of Human Resources Management, advised those currently employed to begin planning for their departure from the Civil Service and characterized retirement as an ongoing process. The retirees were cautioned by Mr. Shehu to stay focused and active, and he confirmed that there are still opportunities to explore after retirement.
