Kwara State University, Malete, has announced the expulsion of 175 students for involvement in various misconducts.
This decision was approved based on the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee, which conducted hearings from October 2021 to March 2024. according to a statement issued by Acting Director of University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, and made available to newsmen in Ilorin Kwara on Monday.
The offences committed by the expelled students, according to the statement, include examination malpractice, theft, admission through fake results, assault, fraud, membership in unregistered associations, and possession of firearms.
“The university management has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring that its graduates are not only academically sound but also of good character.” The statement said
Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the Acting Director of University Relations, emphasized the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline.
