NYSC Vital for National Development, Says Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq

The Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has emphasized the crucial role the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) plays in Nigeria’s development.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Shehu Ndanusa Usman, at the official opening and swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream 2 orientation course at the NYSC camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area, the governor lauded the federal government’s commitment to sustaining the scheme.

Governor AbdulRazaq highlighted the NYSC’s significance as a cornerstone for national unity and development, describing it as a platform where educated Nigerian youths are mobilized for the important task of nation-building.

He urged the newly inducted corps members to maintain discipline, stay focused, and demonstrate loyalty and patriotism throughout their service year and beyond.

He also assured that his administration is committed to prioritizing the welfare of corps members in the state.

The State Coordinator of NYSC Kwara State, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, expressed his gratitude to the governor for providing funds for the renovation of the sewage system at the NYSC orientation camp.

He praised Governor AbdulRazaq as a youth-friendly leader whose actions should be emulated by other leaders across the country.

During the ceremony, a total of 1,960 corps members, comprising 949 males and 1,011 females, took the oath of allegiance administered by the representative of the Kwara State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice E.B. Mohammed.
