NYSC Director Urges Corps Members to Embrace Financial Literacy, Warns Against Frivolous Spending

The Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), North West Area Office (1), Kaduna, Mr. Kehinde Aremu Cole, has advised Corps members to adopt financial discipline and maturity in their actions.

He made this call on Monday while addressing the 2024 Batch B, Stream 2 Corps members undergoing their orientation at the Yikpata camp, Edu Local Government, Kwara State.

Mr. Aremu urged the Corps members to avoid unnecessary expenses and focus on legitimate ways to increase their income. “Stop being childish in your ways and embrace financial literacy,” he said, stressing the importance of financial responsibility.

He further encouraged them to continue their Skills Acquisition training beyond the camp to secure their financial future.

Additionally, he warned against embarking on night journeys during their service year and even beyond, highlighting safety concerns.

Mr. Aremu also delivered the goodwill message of the Director-General to the Corps members, motivating them to make the most of their service year.
