NITDA UNVEILS SRAP 2.0 FOR SUSTAINABLE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, during the Omniverse Summit, held at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.emphasized the pivotal role of collaboration with stakeholders in the technology ecosystem to achieve a resilience and prosperous digital transformation for Nigeria by unveiling the NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan 2.0.

As usual, Inuwa emphasized the need for common objectives, assets, and expertise to have a long-lasting effect on Nigeria’s digital future.

The NITDA Boss claims that the road map is centered around eight strategic pillars that are intended to expedite present administration’s directives to accelerate the digital transformation of all sectors.

According to Inuwa, the first pillar, which cultivates talent and fosters digital literacy, aims to position Nigeria as a leader in technological know-how by developing technical talent through the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy’s “the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT)” initiative and achieving 70% digital literacy by 2027 through the implementation of National Digital Literacy guidelines.

The second pillar, is to establish a strong system for technology research that places Nigeria’s research in six important areas—AI, IoT, robotics, additive manufacturing, blockchain, and unmanned aerial vehicles—at the 25th percentile globally.

The third pillar focuses on the necessity of bolstering the legal and policy framework, with all stakeholders in the ecosystem contributing to the achievement of national objectives.

On Fourth pillar he said, “Promoting inclusive access to digital infrastructure and services forms the fourth pillar which aims at connecting the unconnected by investing in learning centers and innovation hubs across the country.” Inuwa.

The fifth pillar focuses on boosting digital trust and fortifying cybersecurity. This speaks to the significance of giving users of digital platforms confidence,” he said.

The sixth pillar, according to him, is all about strategies for developing an ecosystem that is both innovative and entrepreneurial. This will foster industry synergy and provide a platform that will facilitate digital transformation.

“the Seventh pillar is to collaborate with external stakeholders just as NITDA is building with the Omniverse platform, the eight and last pillar of the SRAP is directed to cultivate a vibrant organizational culture and agile workforce within Agency; he added.

“We believe that by working together, we can transform Nigeria into a global digital powerhouse,” Inuwa declared.

The convener of the Omniverse Summit Obi Asika with his team, Charles Emembolu, Dr. Thwueba and Isioma Udeozo Explained that the Omniverse is a collaborative platform, designed convergence of people.
Acxording to them, one of the core objectives of the program was to bring different segments of the ecosystem like the academia, tech, startups, gaming people, music industry, film industry, television industry, the arts and arts culture among others together to have clear understanding of what is happening them nationally and internationally.
