NDD Strategic Master Plan’s delivered to Belgore.

Dr. Shuaib Belgore OON, Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development (MNDD), has stated the ministry’s commitment to any approach, initiative, or strategy that will raise the standard of living for the Niger Delta region’s residents.

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in Abuja, during the consultant’s presentation of the harmonized draft copy of the Strategic Master Plan for the Niger Delta Region, Dr. Belgore made this claim.

Speaking further, Belgore asserted that the preparedness of the draft Master Plan copy being presented is evidence of the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the socioeconomic prospects of the Niger Delta Region in accordance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.” He tasked the stakeholders and management group to focus on the presentation’s specifics and to offer insightful feedback when needed.

Hon. Alabo Boma iyaye, Executive Director of Finance and Account at NDDC, described in his remarks how the Ministry had earlier this year assigned the commission the task of bringing the region’s developmental plans into harmony. The commission hired consultants to review and harmonize a Strategic Master Plan for the Niger people in order to carry out the directive.

The goal of the review, according to consultants Atei Beredugo and Dr. Charles Achodo, was to accelerate sustainable development and advance regional well-being while pursuing an ecologically prosperous, politically peaceful, and ecologically regenerative region. He went on to say that the review policy is based on seven pillars: infrastructure development, governance, finance, social development, sustainable environment, economic development, and security (law and order).
