According to reports, there was a small fire incident at the Ministry’s Block A at approximately 11:30 a.m.

A spark from a malfunctioning circuit breaker in the ground floor Electrical Control Room caused the incident.

Mr. Kekai Bekebi, the Station Commander of the Federal Fire Service at the Federal Ministry of Works Headquarters, reported that his team responded promptly and used the available fire extinguishers to bring the situation under control. He continued by saying that a staff evacuation drill went well.

Mr. Aliyu Abdullahi, the Director of Human Resource Management, praised the staff for their overall behavior during the incident and reported that no casualties or document loss had occurred.
