Breaking: IGP Egbetokun Debunks Allegations of PolIce Raiding NLC’s Head Office.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has refuted allegations by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) that police raided its head office in Abuja.

Speaking at the Nigeria Police Force Youth Summit in Abuja on Monday, Egbetokun disclosed that the police only targeted a specific shop within the NLC building, which was linked to a prime suspect in the #EndBadGovernance protests.

The suspect according to the Inspector General of Police, who was traced to the shop disguised at a book store, was also implicated in the Sudan crisis, just as he emphasized that the police did not raid the NLC office, contrary to the union’s claims.

The police Boss also revealed that the force did not participate in the protests due to intelligence suggesting that the demonstrations aimed to destabilize the country.
