Mr Olariwaju had approached the Commission with a complain that the cargo company manhandled a television set entrusted in their care for shipment and delivery from Ibadan to Abuja.
In the process of shipment, Mr Olariwaju claimed that the television set screen got cracked, showing signs of manhandling, indicating negligence on the part of ABC Cargo Express employees and asked for full reimbursement of the full value of the television or the repair of same: a matter which has dragged on since April 2024.
The Commission investigation into the issue revealed the Complainant’s claims to be factual, resolved that ABC Cargo Express is culpable and resolved that the Cargo Company remediate its actions: a resolution that both parties accepted.
To please the it’s customer, the Cargo Company replaced the Set and further undertook to deliver and mount the Television in Mr Olariwaju’s residence to his joy; which emphasizes the importance of Ombudsman resolution of complaints that enables the respondent and the complaint shake hands thereafter.
Responding, while the Complaint was deeply appreciative of the FCT Ombudsman’s intervention on his behalf and praised the dexterity of PCC Investigation Officers on the matter, the ABC Cargo Express represented by its Abuja Cargo Manager, Mr Jude Odugbu Chukwudi thanks the Public Complaints Commission for its mature approach and mediation in the matter.
While speaking further, Hon Commissioner Musa Dikko urged aggrieved Nigerians, non Nigerians and companies living and doing business in the Federal Capital Territory to bring their grievance to the Commission for peaceful resolution instead of resorting to self help.
