The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality and affordable healthcare services to residents across the state, with the commissioning of three regional offices for the Kwara State Health Insurance Agency (KWHIA).
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, announced this at an inter-ministerial press briefing organized by the Ministry of Communications in Ilorin.
Represented by the Controller of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Atobiloye Mufliu, Dr. Jetawo-Winter disclosed that the agency aims to onboard at least 250,000 beneficiaries from the formal, informal, and indigent sectors into its health insurance scheme.
“This initiative ensures that affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare services reach all Kwarans, irrespective of tribe or religion,” she said.
Dr. Jetawo-Winter explained that the newly commissioned regional offices, located across the three geopolitical zones of the state, will improve accessibility to the scheme, making it easier for residents to enroll and benefit.
She emphasized that the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration prioritizes the health of its citizens, as evidenced by the significant resources allocated to supporting indigent beneficiaries under the scheme.
To further enhance service delivery, the agency has also organized capacity-building programs for its staff on health insurance administration, digital literacy, and marketing.
“Kwara Care remains committed to improving health outcomes for all residents of Kwara State through effective service delivery,” Dr. Jetawo-Winter added.
The Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bola Olukoju, commended Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration for its strides in advancing development across all sectors.
She described the media briefing as a platform for government agencies to inform the public about their activities and achievements.
The move is expected to bolster the administration’s vision of ensuring a healthier and more productive Kwara State.
