NIGERIA-CHINA ALLIANCE: WALE EDUN MEETS CHINESE DELEGATION, DISCUSSES ENHANCED COOPERATION TO BOOST INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN NIGERIA*

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, hosted a high-level Chinese delegation led by Minister Counsellor Wang Yingzi today in his office in Abuja, marking a historic step to strengthen economic ties and open up new investment opportunities in the nation. This event laid the groundwork for a strengthened alliance between Nigeria and China.

Strengthening Nigeria-China relations was one of the meeting’s main topics, along with the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled for next month.

Minister Counsellor Wang promised that Chinese financial institutions would continue to support China’s commitment to boosting investments in Nigeria.

In addition to praising the collaboration, HM Edun stressed the significance of Chinese investments in fostering national economic expansion, job creation, and poverty reduction.

Through promoting cooperation and mutual economic gains, this strategic engagement paves the way for a stronger alliance between China and Nigeria.

Both countries are prepared to take advantage of the enormous potential of their bilateral relations and drive prosperity and development for the benefit of their citizens now that they have reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation.

The Ministry hopes that the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) will yield positive results and fortify the partnership between Nigeria and China.
