Kwara NUJ, NALVEJ, Mourn Veteran Journalist, Bashir Ademola Jimoh

The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is deeply saddened to be informed of the passing of one of its esteemed leaders, Alhaji Bashir Ademola Jimoh.

His passing comes as a huge loss to the Kwara NUJ community and journalism fraternity. Bashir Ademola Jimoh’s absence will be keenly felt, as his contributions to the media industry were invaluable.

This was contained in a statement signed and issued by Chairman, NUJ Kwara Council Abdullateef Lanre Ahmed and Secretary, NUJ Kwara Council Comrade Omotayo Ayanda and made available to newsmen in Ilorin Kwara State on Sunday

“The news of his passing has sent shockwaves through the journalism community in Kwara State and beyond. Colleagues and friends alike are mourning the loss of a beloved figure whose passion for the craft was matched only by his kindness and generosity.

Bashir Ademola Jimoh, a veteran journalist, mentor, and retired staff of Radio Kwara, embodied the essence of journalistic integrity and professionalism throughout his illustrious career. His unwavering commitment to truth and dedication to storytelling left an indelible mark on the field of journalism.

Throughout his career, he served as a mentor to countless aspiring journalists, sharing his wisdom and guiding them along their professional journey. His legacy as a mentor will endure. It is our conviction that those he mentored would continue to carry forward his teachings and uphold the standards he championed.

In this time of grief, the Kwara NUJ extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Bashir Ademola Ademola Jimoh. May they find strength and solace in the cherished memories they hold dear and in the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

Also, the National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) in Kwara State, has mourned the demise of a former editorial staff of Kwara State Broadcasting Corporation( Radio Kwara), Alh Bashiru Ademola Jimoh.

Jimoh died on Saturday and has since been buried according to Muslim rites.

The chairman of the league, Alh Mohammed Tunde Akanbi, in a statement signed by the publicity secretary, Alh Abdullahi Olesin, described Jimoh’s death as shocking.

Akanbi recalled that Jimoh was a part of a delegation that visited Radio Kwara on Friday on a peace and reconciliation mission.

Describing the deceased as a humble and peace loving person during his lifetime, the NALVEJ chairman said journalists in the state will sorely miss Jimoh.

He commiserated with the Jimoh’s family, management and staff of Radio Kwara and the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Jimoh’s death.

He prayed Allah to forgive and grant the deceased Aljanat Firdaus as his final abode.

Also, the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State Council has commiserated with the Radio Kwara Chapel and Journalists in the state over the demise of immediate past Chairman of Radio Kwara Chapel, Mr Bashir Ademola Jimoh.

In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Chapel, Abdulhakeem Garba, and Kayode Abdulazeez respectively commiserated with the family, friends, Radio Kwara Chapel, and entire members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state over the irreparable loss.

The Chapel described the deceased as a Professional Journalist who displayed a high level of professionalism, good human relationship and great leadership qualities during his lifetime.

The Chapel prayed for God to grant the family, friends, associates and colleagues the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss and pray against untimely death in the Union as Alhaji Bashir Jimoh will be remembered for his friendly and good deed.

Also, in a condolence message, endorsed by NUJ Chairman, Radio Kwara Chapel, Mallam Abdul-Hameed Funsho Alaiye and Secretary Saheed Abdullahi, in Ilorin described the death of immediate past Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Radio Kwara Chapel, Mr Bashir Ademola Jimoh as a rude shock to the media industry in the state

The statement said late Bashir Ademola Jimoh was a veteran journalist with impeccable character, soften-spoken, kind-hearted, humorous and prolific News Writer whose fingerprint would be rigorous to erase

It commiserated with entire members Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kwara State Council, Radio Kwara Chapel in particular, family and friends over the demise of the consummate media personality

NUJ Radio Kwara Chapel identified Bashir Ademola Jimoh as a devout Muslim who lived a life worthy of emulation, prayed Allah to accept his return by granting him Aljanah fridous and bestow the family the strength to bear the colossal loss
